Custom fields
Custom fields let your practice capture data the standard record forms don’t already cover — anything specific to how your practice works. You define them once, and providers fill them in on records.
Add a custom field
Section titled “Add a custom field”Open Settings → Custom fields, then choose Add field. Each field has:
- Label — what providers see on the form.
- Section — which part of the record the field belongs to.
- Field type — text, date, number, or a choice field. For a choice field, add the options providers can pick from.
Choose Add field to save it, or Save changes when editing an existing one. Your practice can define custom fields up to a set limit; once you reach it, you’ll see Field limit reached and can free up room by removing a field you no longer use.
Where custom fields appear
Section titled “Where custom fields appear”Custom fields show up on the record forms where providers enter them, and on the printed record.
Manage existing fields
Section titled “Manage existing fields”From the Custom fields page you can:
- Deactivate a field to stop it appearing on new records without losing the values already recorded, and Activate it again later.
- Reorder fields with the move-up and move-down controls.
- Remove field to delete it entirely. Existing values on records are removed with it, so remove a field only when you’re sure.
